Our Ministries & Missions

Capuchin friars are devoted to a life of prayer and action. Ministry is a vital and essential part of every friar’s life. Not only does the friar seek a deeper union with God, but he knows that the spiritual life is a fantasy if it is not grounded in his love for people. He also knows that his love for human beings is incomplete without the love of God to guide and energize him.

Capuchin friars labor around the world in all sorts of circumstances to all sorts of people. In the Province of St. Augustine, friars are involved in parish ministry, working with the homeless, involved among immigrants, caring for the sick and dying, and educating the young and not-so-young, just to name a few. They are in urban centers, rural settings, distant lands, and in suburban neighborhoods. The people they serve speak many languages and come in many colors and from diverse cultures. In all places, with all people, the friar, in the spirit of St. Francis, wants to bring the love of God that comes to us in Christ Jesus to all people.
