Fr. Lester looking "over the shoulder"

LesterOur brother Lester Knoll, OFM Cap., sent us the news that his book, Looking Over His Shoulder is now published.

Fr. Lester comments about the book: “The remarkable theologian Karl Rahner said that the future believer will either be a mystic or not believe at all. That was in 1964. A mystic is simply a person who has had a personal encounter with the Lord.”

Puerto Rico Novices begin life in Columbia

Our custody of Puerto Rico has welcomed two novices into our life who recently received the Capuchin habit as they begin their year of novitiate to discern the Lord's call.    Our brother Bishop Bill Fey, OFM Cap., now serving as Bishop to Kimbe in Papua New Guinea, was highlighted in a recent article in the Catholic Leader, the official paper of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, Australia.  The article serves as a great testimony to Bishop Bill's work in the small, but fervent, diocese.

Marek Przeczwski, OFM Cap., current director of the Office. They met to listen, evaluate and make suggestions for coordinating the activity of communications on the International level. OSV Highlights Fr. Scott's Work for Oaxaca

Ole5K-SM'Our Sunday Visitor' recently focused on the Anna Seethaler Hospital (TASH, Inc,), which was a 'dream realized' through the ministry of our brother Scott Seethaler, OFM Cap., whose initiative in Oaxaca, Mexico, provides necessary access to medical care for the people there. When Capuchin Father Scott Seethaler visited a friend in Oaxaca, Mexico, in November 1999, he was so moved by the health care needs of the poor that on his last day there, he promised a doctor that he would raise money to found a clinic.

Oceania Capuchin Bishops Meet in New Zealand

Our Capuchin bishops from Oceania were in St. Joseph Cathedral in Wellington, New Zealand, on their way to the closing Mass of the meeting of the Federation of the Catholic Bishops from the territory, held from May 12-16. The five were among over 80 bishops who form the Federation representing dioceses from PNG/Solomon Islands, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Chapel Dedication Reveals New Mural

The parish of St. Ambrose in Baltimore, MD, recently dedicated their Sacred Heart Alcove as a new chapel. 

Pastor Fr. Paul Zaborowski, OFM Cap. led the dedication of the new Sacred Heart Chapel on Sunday, May 4. Dominican Sr. Mary Grace Thul, OP, of New Castle, DE, designed the images which surround the existing statue of the Sacred Heart.
